Vaccine Information

MSU Health Care Pediatrics will be administering the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. This is a two-dose vaccine that needs to be scheduled 21 days apart. If you receive the Pfizer vaccine for the first dose, you need to receive the Pfizer vaccine for the second dose.

Side effects that have been reported with the COVID-19 vaccine include:

  • injection site pain
  • tiredness
  • headache
  • muscle pain
  • chills
  • joint pain
  • fever
  • injection site swelling
  • injection site redness
  • nausea
  • feeling unwell
  • swollen lymph nodes (lymphadenopathy)

V-Safe

We are also encouraging employees who have smartphones to consider registering with the V-Safe (after vaccination health checker) following receipt of the COVID vaccine. Note: those who enroll with v-safe will also receive a reminder about getting the second dose. An Exit Monitor at the site will provide your employee with additional information at the time of the appointment and I have included the link to CDC’s website that provides more detail if you want to share with your employees: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/vsafe.html

Transportation

For those travelling by car, free parking is available. For those travelling by bike, bike racks are located at the NW corner of the building. In addition, the Capital Area Transportation Authority is providing free transportation to and from appointments seven days a week to this and other vaccine locations throughout Ingham County. Call 517-394-2282 to schedule your trip, which must be scheduled at least 24 hours before your appointment.

Reminder

For our patients, 12 years and older, you can schedule an appointment now at the MSU Health Care Pharmacy. More details are available on the pharmacy website at pharmacy.msu.edu
